  • Undergraduate, applied mathematics, Politecnico di Torino, Italy.

  • Masters, engineering and physics, Politecnico di Milano & Torino, Italy, and Paris-Saclay, France.

  • PhD, Paris-Saclay, France.

  • I worked on extreme value statistics within stochastic processes.

  • I am interested in problems at the interface between non-equilibrium physics and biology.

  • I worked on extreme value statistics, stochastic thermodynamics, collective effects in living matter, and animal navigation. For instance, I have uncovered an unexpected universal property in the run-and-tumble motion, a random walk model that mimics the movement of bacteria.

  • Currently, I apply theoretical methods to study rare events, dynamical instabilities, and optimal control in living systems.

  • By studying models, I hope to gain insights into the fundamental principles underlying organisation, navigation, and efficiency in living systems.

  • Now a Research Associate at Harvard University.
